My First Garden-- Week 1

As mentioned two posts ago, Mom and I planted our first garden on Sunday. We were a bit late in getting it started, but we had to get the ground rototilled and get some plants started in pots. Sunday was a lovely warm day, which was great for planting all of the vegetables!

This area was used for our big Costco pool. We didn't put it up last year and I have always envisioned this place as a garden. So exciting that it has finally happened!

GROW plants, GROW!

We are growing:

• Two types of corn: Golden Jubilee & Bodacious (hope they're good!)
• 5 Tomato plants: 2 Willamette, Early Girl, Roma & Grape
• Carrots
• Kohlrabi
• Miniature pumpkins for fun
• Lettuce
• Spinach (am skeptical on whether this will be successful but hoping!)
• 6 Zucchini plants -- yellow and green (if they all grow we will be so inundated haha)
•  3 herbs in a pot -- thyme, basil & dill

We also planted various flower seeds around the border so we will see what happens. Could be quite colorful!
